Drug trafficking crackdown
On January 19, 2026, the Rewa police launched a major operation against an organized drug trafficking ring, acting on a tip-off that narcotic pills were being smuggled into the district from Ahmedabad via courier. Police from the Chorhata police station set up a checkpoint near Imli Chauraha and stopped a Bolero vehicle. On searching the vehicle, officers seized a total of 26,005 narcotic tablets and capsules with no legal documentation for their transportation. The seized drugs were estimated to be worth around ₹2,07,435 and the vehicle used for smuggling was also confiscated as part of the evidence.
